St. Michael's Church Worthington, Ohio

Walsh Sound was recommended by the Diocese of Columbus for this project at St. Michael's Church in Worthington, Ohio. We were asked to correct the problems they were having with their existing sound system. Although the system was only three-four years old, it was poorly designed and inadequate for their needs. The combination of inadequate speakers and their improper placement resulted in unintelligible services and incomplete coverage. Depending on where paritioners were seated, some members of the congregation were unable to hear the services. |

The upgraded system uses Bose MA-12 Modular line array speakers. Each MA-12 consists of twelve 2 1/2-inch drivers in a vertical line array. They allow for wide horizontal and narrow vertical coverage pattern. This helps to evenly cover the deep nave of the church while avoiding feedback. Three MA-12 speakers were coupled together and mounted on each side of the altar. Two more were placed on each side of the nave to cover the back of the church. A digital signal processor is used to delay the signal to the back speakers preventing interference from time delay. Bose innovative speakers deliver high speach intelligibility and natural sounding music even in the most acoustically demanding spaces. 947
