Walsh Sound Equipment was founded in 1943
by Bob Walsh, primarily as a radio service company. The
company quickly became the repair center for area department
stores
that sold the radios, which at that time was the main mode
of electronic entertainment in the home. During the 1930's
and 40's Bob gained experience designing and providing
public address systems for traveling automobile thrill
shows. He
also began supplying portable sound systems for public
gatherings in the Mansfield area. He used that experience
during WWII
to become a pioneer in the relatively new field of fixed
installation sound systems.
Over the years, Walsh has
been known as a highly reliable systems integrator servicing
the
greater Ohio area. In 2000, Walsh Sound was purchased
by Tom and Mary Howell. Their goal is to maintain the
high standards
set by Bob Walsh.
